The Jobat aGlance
The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective planning of inventory, materials, and production to meet customer demand while optimizing costs and service levels. This role collaborates with suppliers, procurement, operations, and logistics teams to develop and execute planning strategies that support business objectives.
A Typical Day
- Develop and maintain supply plans to ensure product availability in line with demand forecasts.
- Analyze demand trends and adjust planning parameters to optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts or excess.
- Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to manage purchase orders, lead times, and replenishment strategies.
- Monitor supply chain performance metrics, identify issues or risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes, providing supply input and analysis to support decisions.
- Coordinate with production, warehouse, and logistics teams to align supply plans with operational capabilities.
- Maintain accurate data within planning systems (e.g. ERP, MRP, or APS tools) including safety stock levels and item parameters.
- Support new product introductions, discontinuations, and promotions with effective supply plans.
- Develop strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and present supply planning reports to management as required.
To Land This Opportunity
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in supply planning, demand planning, or inventory management.
- Proficiency with planning software (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Kinaxis, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- You're proficient in English (verbal and written)
- Knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory optimization, and replenishment strategies.
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or retail supply chain environments.
- Familiarity with S&OP processes and integrated business planning is helpful.
- APICS CPIM or CSCP certification gets you bonus points.
- This is a remote position. Candidates must live in Georgia, Florida, Texas, Ohio, or Indiana.
