Supply Chain Operations Manager (Administrative Operations)
Location: NYC, NY 10065
Duration: Long Term
Shift: Hybrid, the candidate would need to be flexible as on-site days vary per month (~7-10 on-site days/month)
The Manager is placing strong emphasis on the following core competencies:
- Project Management: Ability to plan, track, and move projects forward to achieve goals
- Continuous Improvement Mindset: Comfortable assessing processes with minimal guidance
- Supply Chain Knowledge: Understanding of KPIs, operations, inventory management concepts, and best practices (safety stocks, replenishment strategies, etc.)
- Data Analysis: Proficiency in Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools
- Leadership Without Authority: Ability to influence and motivate peers and senior stakeholders to drive initiatives forward
Summary:
Manages select operational, technical, human, and information resources in alignment with departmental and institutional goals. Collaborates with leadership to design, coordinate, and implement business processes and strategic initiatives. Leads day-to-day and long-term projects, ensuring efficient use of resources and continuous improvement across operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Establish mechanisms to evaluate and respond to operational needs.
- Create and manage policies, procedures, budgets, purchasing, and invoicing.
- Identify problems, trends, and process improvements using data and metrics.
- Develop and maintain systems to monitor and report departmental data.
- Prepare analytical reports that highlight patterns and areas for review.
- Partner with leadership to develop programmatic initiatives and resources.
- Maintain relationships with institutional stakeholders and gain operational insights.
- Lead project planning, metrics development, stakeholder engagement, and reporting.
- Represent the department in cross-functional workgroups and administrative efforts.
- Provide leadership to ensure efficient daily operations of the department.
- Hire, manage, and evaluate operations staff, and foster a high-performance culture.
- Define and evaluate department operations using performance metrics and standards.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Four (4) - seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience.
- Experience in project management, process improvement, budgeting, and staff development.
- Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and present findings.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and change management skills.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience accepted in lieu of degree.
