Position Summary:
We are a fast-growing U.S firearms manufacturer seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead and evolve our supply chain operations. This role is critical to our continued growth, responsible for building a high-performing team and driving improvements in sourcing strategy, procurement, materials planning, inventory management, supplier performance, and overall supply chain efficiency.
The ideal candidate is a proven leader with a hands-on, strategic approach who can scale supply chain capabilities to match our business growth, while maintaining the highest standards in quality, cost-effectiveness, and delivery performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and lead a high-performing supply chain team responsible for procurement, planning, and inventory control.
- Develop and implement an effective sourcing strategy that aligns with business goals and supports new product development and sustained production.
- Establish and improve processes to reduce material cost, improve lead times, and ensure consistent product quality.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage key suppliers to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Drive purchasing and material planning excellence, ensuring raw material and component availability while minimizing excess inventory.
- Oversee inventory management, optimizing inventory levels to meet production needs and reduce carrying costs.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, finance, and quality teams to align supply chain activities with company objectives.
- Implement supply chain KPIs and use data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including ITAR, and maintain ethical sourcing practices.
- Support ERP/MRP system usage and enhancements related to purchasing, inventory, and planning functions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field (MBA or APICS certification is a plus).
- 7+ years of progressive experience in supply chain or procurement, preferably in manufacturing; experience in the firearms or defense industry is a plus.
- 3+ years of team leadership experience with demonstrated success in building and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, inventory management, and MRP/ERP systems.
- Proven track record of achieving improvements in cost, lead time, supplier performance, and inventory turns.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident due to ITAR compliance.
