Summary: The main function of Supply Chain Planning Engineer 2 is to apply supply chain theory and principles to manage both inbound and outbound material flow paths. A typical SC Planning Engineer can ensure adherence to corporate policies and practices by working effectively with the appropriate functional areas to maintain a high and low velocity material flow.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform activities to ensure material is designated the appropriate lead time elements for both internal and external movements.
- Using the CPS Guiding Principles lead continuous improvement efforts to: eliminate excess inventory, manage material to PFEP-defined flow paths, manage PFEP elements systematically including lead times, economic lot sizing, packing and touchpoints.
- Manage system updates for the changes above by completing PFEP Workbooks or TCOs to document OPACC impact or SCRT risk.
- Provide support and assistance to business unit or facility groups to resolve transportation issues. Provide overall management of the facility freight expenses, including filing carrier loss and damaged freight claims and monitoring, analyzing, and performing root cause corrective actions to resolve freight non-compliance issues.
- Typical customers include department or business/service unit in the facility, material suppliers, transportation team, 3rd party logistics providers, packaging engineers, buyers, material planning and requirements personnel.
- Determine root cause and take corrective action on any assigned activities.
Skills:
- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.

- Ability to work in Microsoft applications especially; Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBi.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Previous experience with Supply Chain processes and procedures as well as how the different departments interact with each other.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics or business management or
- equivalent working experience in the same fields.
- 5-7 years' experience required.
Position's Contributions to Work Group:

- This role deals with items such as lead time, economic lot sizing, packaging, internal facility movement, etc. This is a significant role for learning to network, learning overall shared processes with other teams. Lots of cross-functional engagement. Builds off Logistics and Supply Chain experiences that might already be present. Will have daily work and project work at the same time. Time exposed to the system and physical warehouse processes.
Typical task breakdown:
- Data gathering with supplier & internal teams.
- Working in Excel & Power Bi to analyze data
- Creating Powerpoint presentations to communicate results to management team & request approvals for changes
- Data audits
- Team Meetings
Interaction with team:
- Daily contact via verbal, virtual, instant messaging, and email
- Two members on team with the same responsibilities, rest of team in supporting roles.
Work environment:
- In the office 5 days per week

Education & Experience Required:
- Years of experience: 5 to 7
- Degree requirement: Bachelor's in Supply Chain, Logistics or Business Management is a plus.
