We are currently representing an innovative medical device company seeking a strategic, results-driven Director of Supply Chain to lead and scale its supply chain operations.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, savvy negotiator with expertise in medical equipment manufacturing and distribution (or other electromechanical-based products), coupled with strong financial acumen to optimize cost structures, improve margins, and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a scalable global supply chain strategy aligned with company growth and cost targets
- Build and lead a high-performing supply chain team across procurement, logistics, planning, and manufacturing operations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Finance, Quality, and Regulatory to support product lifecycle and go-to-market timelines
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Oversee sourcing strategy, vendor qualification, contract negotiations, and supplier performance management
- Build partnerships with OEM/CM partners to ensure quality, cost-efficiency, and delivery reliability
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks including single-source dependencies and geopolitical exposure
Financial Oversight & Cost Optimization
- Partner closely with FP&A to manage COGS, forecast material and logistics costs, and support margin improvement initiatives
- Implement inventory optimization programs to reduce working capital without compromising fulfillment
- Lead cost-benefit analyses, make/buy evaluations, and support pricing models
Operations & Logistics
- Oversee demand planning, production scheduling, inventory management, and distribution
- Ensure supply chain operations comply with medical device industry standards, QMS (e.g., ISO 13485), and FDA regulations
- Drive operational excellence through metrics (KPIs), continuous improvement (Lean/Six Sigma), and digital tools (ERP/MRP systems)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred)
- 10+ years of progressive leadership in supply chain operations, preferably in medical devices (But not a must have)
- Demonstrated experience managing contract manufacturers and suppliers in the U.S.
- Solid financial background with experience in budgeting, margin analysis, and cost control
- Expertise with ERP systems and supply chain analytics tools
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
