What You'll Do:
As the Supply Chain Director, you will research, plan, manage, and execute on actions/strategies around sourcing, vendor development, purchasing and logistics functions to ensure high-quality materials delivered on-time and in budget to meet production, inventory, and cost goals.
Your Accountabilities in the Role:
- Researches, plans, manages and executes on short- and long-term strategies to optimize the supply chain, from raw material purchasing to on-time delivery of finished goods, ensuring optimal quality, delivery, and budget success.
- Evaluates, develops, and manages supplier relationships to ensure cost, quality and reliability goals are achieved.
- Leads the procurement strategy across multiple commodities, primarily steel and hardware, and outside services (painting, galvanizing, etc.) to ensure customer specifications are achieved.
- Researches, develops and implements logistics improvements to ensure a seamless coordination between vendors, production, warehouse, and customer delivery.
- Implements and improves processes and systems (ERP, MRP, supplier scorecards, S&OP, forecasting, etc) to drive optimization and efficiencies.
- Collaborates cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, Engineering and Finance to align supply chain with growth goals.
- Leads, coaches and mentors the team to ensure continued growth and ability to reach growing business goals.
Position Requirements:
- Education: Bachelors Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Purchasing or similar related field ; or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Experience: 7+ years of supply chain/purchasing & leadership experience within metal fabrication, machining, industrial manufacturing or related industry. Experience establishing new systems, policies and procedures for a department is needed for this role.
- Certifications: Lean, Supply Chain, or Purchasing certifications would be a plus.
- Functional Skills: Strategic-thinking skills with the ability to research, develop, plan, organize, and execute strategies to drive success; understanding of inventory and purchasing strategies; strong in vendor negotiations, supply base rationalization and logistics optimization; results-oriented; strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills; ability to manage and drive projects and metrics; ability to manage to P&L expectations. Familiar with setting up priorities, goals, and metrics to track and ensure business success.
- Technology Skills: Strong aptitude with computers, ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite, Epicor, Infor, etc.), and Microsoft Suite products.
- Communication Skills:Strong written & verbal communication skills, along with presentation skills, are also required.

Other Important Information:
Pay/Salary: Salaried position plus performance-based bonus. Salary is negotiable based on proven experience.

Reports To: VP & CFO
Core Hours: Will work 8 - 9 hours a day during core hours )
Typical Work Week: M-F; occasional weekend work where required; 45 hours a week on average
Direct Reports: Materials Buyer, MRO Buyer, Logistics Manager
Travel: Limited to conferences, vendors, etc.
Work Environment: Office & Production environment
