Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with internal departments to identify and maintain resources needed for an effective supply chain
- Establish and track performance metrics affecting supply chain efficiency and effectiveness
- Manage supply levels, negotiate long- and short-term supplier agreements, and maintain optimal inventory
- Analyze current supply chain procedures and implement improvements for cost savings and operational efficiency
- Drive implementation and optimization of ERP/WMS systems to improve forecasting, inventory control, and procurement
- Develop policies and lead initiatives to increase efficiency, safety, and quality throughout the supply chain
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and shipping partners, ensuring cost-effective procurement
- Participate in product development processes to ensure timely material sourcing and manufacturability
- Oversee engineering changes and new product introductions with an emphasis on material flow and production readiness
- Evaluate supplier performance and identify/qualify new sources to maintain quality and delivery standards
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing supply chain team with an emphasis on cross-functional collaboration
- Serve as a collaborative leader who inspires accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Occasional travel to suppliers and vendors is required
Required Qualifications
- 7-10 years of progressive experience in purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain operations, ideally in a manufacturing environment
- A career path that began in Engineering and transitioned into supply chain/logistics leadership
- Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, BOMs, and procurement of machined components and assemblies
- Experience working in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and WMS to manage supply planning and execution
- Advanced proficiency with spreadsheets and data analysis tools (Excel/Google Sheets)
- Prior exposure to lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and process optimization
- Preferred: Experience in the firearms industry, including familiarity with manufacturing compliance and industry-specific suppliers
- Strong communication and leadership skills with a proven ability to influence across departments
- Ability to multitask, manage shifting priorities, and maintain accuracy under pressure
- Familiarity with NPI, PLM, and APQP processes is highly desirable
- APICS, Six Sigma, or other supply chain certifications are a plus
