Salary : $32,929.00 - $35,643.00 Annually Location : El Paso, TX Job Type: Full time - Regular Job Number: 2025100 Division: VP Instruction & Workforce Education Department: Library NW Opening Date: 08/01/2025 Closing Date: 8/15/2025 11:59 PM Mountain Employee Classification: Classified Staff Position Grade: F Job Summary Responsible for the overall supervision and operations of the circulation functions using an automated library system and assist the Head Librarian in the overall security and maintenance of the library. In-person work on campus is an essential function of this position. Essential Functions Supervise the daily activities of the library's circulation functions and front desk. Schedule and assign work. Monitor quality of services, including handling patron fines and complaints. Assist the Head Librarian in the overall coordination, security, and maintenance of the library, including library programming, scheduling maintenance or service for equipment or facilities as appropriate. Ensure policies and procedures are followed and enforced during evening and weekend shifts. Take calls, route and respond to questions, and provide general information regarding the library's support services. Provide guidance and supervision to full-time and part-time staff, library circulation staff, student workers, student technology service staff, and volunteer staff, to include orientation, training, performance evaluation, coaching, and professional development as appropriate. Develop and implement circulation functions procedures. Retrieve and compile data, prepare and submit reports and communications, and process a variety of related library documents. Coordinate library materials and equipment inventory and usage statistics with Head Librarian. Receive, process, and distribute library materials and equipment. Schedule maintenance or service for the automated library system as appropriate. Report and track campus library fines and lost material charges, and resolve issues relating to delinquent library accounts with students, faculty, staff, and the general public. Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications: 1. Associate's Degree and four (4) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. NOTE: A copy of the transcript reflecting this required education MUST be submitted for consideration and reflect completed coursework and degrees conferred. The candidate must be fully qualified for the position at the time of application. 2. Experience managing and supervising personnel. 3. Effective communication (oral and written) skills. 4. Must possess excellent and highly effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision- making skills. 5. Experience conducting research, compiling data, and preparing reports. 6. Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and time-management skills, and be detail-oriented. 7. Highly effective customer service skills. 8. Extensive ability to maintain confidentiality and promote compliance with ethics. 9. Ability to work in a virtual or remote environment. 10. Must be familiar with a Library's automated systems and possess working knowledge of library functions. Special Conditions: 1.
