Zack Hinton Pkwy McDonough, GA Job Type: Full-time Job Number: 00360 Cluster: NO CLUSTER Department: ELECTIONS Opening Date: 07/03/2025 Closing Date: Continuous Description The purpose of this position is to register citizens to vote and maintain related documentation. This position will be responsible for administrative and technical work and the day-to-day operations of the Voter Registration office. Must demonstrate independence, attention to detail, and take initiative to maintain accurate voter registration records. This position will also assist in directing the registration, voting, and election activities for Henry County and ensure that registration, election laws and regulations are followed. Examples of Duties
- Maintainsan accurate list of voters in accordance with Georgia Election Code?by managing all active and inactive voter files for Henry County and its municipalities.
- Supervises a team of Elections Assistants that are responsible for registering citizens of Henry County, updating registration information by verifying application information, street addresses, and precinct and district combinations.
- Requests additional information on all incomplete voter registration applications. Mails precinct cards and processes all office mail including returned mail.
- Performs street maintenance and precinct, polling location and district combination changes as needed.
- Manages Absentee Ballots by Mail, Advance In-Person and UOCAVA in accordance with Georgia Election Code. Processes applications, issues ABM ballots, and completes the reconciliation process.
- Coordinates voter registration drives.
- Verifies petitions
- Communicates with poll workers during elections to provide information and resolve problems as needed.
- Maintains current knowledge of laws pertaining to voting, polling locations, and registration.
- Assists in the reapportionment and location of polling places.
- Communicates with County officials, supervisor, other employees, clients, third party service contractors, laborers, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience: Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field, and three (3) years of related experience in managing voter registration processes, to include supervision of lower-level staff, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Licenses or Certifications: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license. Must possess Georgia Election Official Certification, or be able to possess within six (6) months of employment. Special Requirements: Must attend twelve (12) hours of state-mandated training per year offered by the Secretary of State. - Knowledge of local government operations, elections related programs, policies and plans, and modern office practices and procedures.

- Skill in the use of computers and software applications related to the essential functions of the job.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work is light work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
