Laboratory Supervisor II to oversee Auto-Chemistry operations in a high-volume clinical laboratory. This is a full-time, on-site, day-shift position based in DeLand, FL. Supervisor II, you will be responsible for managing workflow across multiple lab functions-from sample processing through result reporting. This position ensures adherence to regulatory standards, performance metrics, and internal quality initiatives, while also fostering a positive, high-performing work environment.
SCHEDULE - TUESDAY - FRIDAY 9AM - 7PM WITH ONE WORKING SATRUDAY EVERY 12-13 WEEKS Key Responsibilities - Supervise and coordinate daily operations in Auto-Chemistry and core lab functions.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, quality control protocols, and regulatory compliance (e.g., CAP, CLIA, state).
- Provide direct oversight, guidance, and coaching to laboratory staff; support training and competency programs.
- Monitor performance against metrics and drive continuous process improvements.
- Handle staffing plans, scheduling, and coverage for absences; perform bench work as needed.
- Conduct performance evaluations, manage disciplinary actions, and support professional development.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop SOPs, safety procedures, and compliance initiatives.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all personnel and operational records.
Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications - 6-8 years of experience as a Medical Technologist or Laboratory Supervisor
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, or a related field
- Valid Florida Supervisor's License in Chemistry
- Certified by a professional laboratory certifying agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT)
Nice-to-Have Skills - Prior experience working in a high-volume reference laboratory
- Strong background in Auto-Chemistry instrumentation and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
