DEFINITION - Under direction, to plan, assign, and supervise the work of professional, technical, and clerical staff assigned to a small engineering or operational unit; to perform highly complex public works civil engineering; to represent the City in the administration of contracts, the implementation of state and federal regulatory programs, and enforcement of City engineering standards; and to perform related work as required. CLASS CHARACTERISTICS:Positions in this class function as first-level supervisors over a small unit of engineers and/or support staff.
