Position Description for Superintendent of Schools, Warren County Public Schools, Virginia

The Warren County School Board in Front Royal, Virginia is seeking a highly qualified and experienced, visionary, transparent educational leader to serve as the Superintendent of Warren County Public Schools (WCPS). The results-oriented Superintendent will serve as a proven forward-thinking, student-oriented, data-driven, instructional leader who is prepared to continue moving WCPS toward instructional excellence and high academic achievement while developing strong relationships throughout the WCPS communities. The candidate should be highly detail-oriented and demonstrate consistent follow-through and must demonstrate a high degree of integrity and professionalism.

Warren County Public Schools is composed of eleven schools including five elementary schools, two middle schools, two high schools, a technical center, and a non-traditional school.

McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., Executive Recruitment and Development, is engaged as the consultant in a search for outstanding candidates. They will assist the School Board in identifying and screening the candidates.

The Qualifications

The candidate must be a visionary and have the background, skills, and abilities essential to lead a premier county school division. The candidate will possess experience as a teacher, principal, and district level administrator in a comparable district. Possession of a doctorate or equivalent preferred. Virginia Superintendent certification – or eligibility for it – is required. The Warren County School Board is seeking a candidate who:
