Application InstructionsPlease fill out the application completely.Position DescriptionThe Underground Utilities Superintendent is responsible for managing all on-site activities for underground utility projects, including water, sewer, storm drain, and related systems. This position ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and schedule requirements. The Superintendent will lead and direct foremen, crew members, and subcontractors while maintaining clear communication with project managers, inspectors, and clients.

• Project Leadership: Supervise daily field operations related to installation of underground utilities, including trenching, shoring, pipe laying, backfilling, and testing.
• Safety Compliance: Enforce company and OSHA safety policies. Lead daily safety meetings and ensure proper use of PPE and safety protocols.
• Crew Oversight: Manage and direct utility crew(s), including foremen, operators, and laborers. Schedule labor, materials, and equipment.
• Quality Control: Ensure proper installation practices are followed, including line and grade, pipe bedding, compaction, and pressure/leak testing.
• Scheduling: Develop and maintain short-interval schedules. Coordinate work sequencing with other trades and utility companies.
• Documentation: Maintain daily reports, timesheets, material logs, and equipment records. Report progress, delays, and jobsite issues.
• Inspections & Testing: Coordinate with QC personnel, engineers, and inspectors to schedule and pass all required inspections and tests.
• Problem Solving: Quickly address unforeseen conditions, conflicts with other utilities, or plan discrepancies.
• Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with project managers, owners, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery.

Position Requirements• Safety Sensitive Position

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must have the ability to work extended hours as required by the workload.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in all types of terrain
• Able to meet all physical requirements such as standing, walking, climbing, stooping, bending, and lifting 50 pounds or more.
• Ability to work around loud noises and can tolerate being exposed to odors, gases, dust, etc.
• Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, in confined spaces, and in excavated areas.
