Job Description :

We're seeking a Ground-Up Superintendent to oversee field operations on complex commercial construction projects across New Haven. This is a hands-on leadership role driving safety, schedule, subcontractor coordination, and execution from mobilization through completion.

Description

  • Supervise all field operations and subcontractor activity on site

  • Lead daily coordination, safety briefings, and site logistics

  • Maintain schedules and proactively identify delays or risks

  • Ensure adherence to drawings, specs, and quality expectations

  • Enforce all OSHA and company safety policies

  • Communicate closely with project managers and owners

  • Conduct walkthroughs and manage punch list and closeout

  • Maintain detailed daily reports, inspections, and site logs

Profile

  • 7-15 years of experience leading ground-up commercial construction projects

  • Familiar with local subcontractor market and municipal processes

  • OSHA 30 certified; strong safety and scheduling track record

  • Skilled in reading plans, managing site activities, and coordinating trades

  • Experience with Procore or similar construction software is a plus

  • Strong communicator, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem solving

  • Stable project history with reputable contractors preferred

  • Based in or willing to commute to the New Haven area
