This is a 3rd shift position

Your Job

The Manufacturing Night Superintendent oversees all plant operations during the night shift in a high-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for ensuring safety, quality, and production targets are met by coordinating activities across departments such as production, maintenance, quality assurance, and logistics. Superintendent plays a key leadership role in executing operational strategies and maintaining plant performance during off-hours.

What you Will do in Your Role

  • Lead and manage all night shift operations in a fast-paced automotive production environment.
  • Supervise and support shift supervisors, team leads, and production employees to ensure manufacturing goals are met.
  • Drive adherence to safety protocols (OSHA, company-specific policies) and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Monitor and coordinate shift production schedules, ensuring alignment with delivery and customer demand.
  • Ensure consistent product quality by working closely with quality control personnel and addressing any non-conformances.
  • Serve as the senior decision-maker on-site during the night shift, managing emergencies, escalations, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure proper functioning of machinery, robotics, and automation systems.
  • Maintain clear communication and handoff reports between shifts to ensure operational continuity.
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives, 5S, and continuous improvement efforts to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Train, coach, and evaluate shift supervisors and hourly employees, enforcing company policies and procedures.
  • Review KPI's (output, scrap, downtime, labor utilization) and implement corrective actions as needed.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • 2+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with coaching, mentoring and developing capability in leaders
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, six sigma, and 5S principles

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related STEM degree
  • Experience working in the automotive industry
  • Experience supervising supervisors
