Superintendent
Reports To: President of Construction
Location: Marion, IN, USA
Position Type: Full-Time
Job Overview: The Superintendent will oversee day-to-day operations on construction sites, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Responsibilities include managing subcontractors, scheduling, safety compliance, quality control, and liaising with clients and project managers to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
Responsibilities:
· Coordinate daily site activities to ensure all work complies with contract documents, plans, and specifications.
· Monitor and enforce subcontractor compliance with project safety requirements, including OSHA regulations and site-specific protocols.
· Assist with safety onboarding and job site orientation for all new field personnel.
· Lead or assist with daily safety talks and maintain proactive housekeeping, signage, and site security.
· Lead or assist with equipment maintenance of TRG equipment (owned or rented), including greasing fittings weekly, cleaning and maintaining well working equipment.
· Coordinate and track material deliveries and verify receipt of correct items, quantities, and condition.
· Supervise subcontractors to ensure work is sequenced correctly, and assist with maintaining a safe, clean, and productive work environment.
· Support schedule creation, 4-week look-aheads, and help identify potential conflicts or delays.
· Conduct regular quality inspections and field walks to ensure work meets specifications and performance expectations and document quality issues utilizing the Procore Observations tool.
· Maintain detailed daily field reports including labor counts, weather, inspections, deliveries, incidents, and progress.
· Take daily jobsite photos and help maintain an organized project photo log to document progress and field conditions.
· Assist in maintaining accurate as-built drawings, site documentation, and field logs.
· Support field coordination with layout, utility conflicts, and inspections as required.
· Act as liaison between the field team, Project Manager, and Architect to communicate and resolve design-related or constructability issues.
· Lead weekly subcontractor and coordination meetings.
· Help generate punch lists and track corrective actions utilizing Procore QC inspections.
· Assist with project turnover and close-out.
· Assist with reviewing and managing RFIs, submittals, and long-lead item tracking as required.
· Help foster a collaborative team environment to enhance communication between field crews and project management team.
· Help assist with enforcing SWPPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan) and environmental measures onsite.
· Coordinate inspections with city officials or other third-party consultants as needed.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field; or equivalent work-related experience in lieu of formal education.
· Demonstrate understanding of wood-frame, stick-built, podium, and other commercial construction types.
· Familiarity with reading and interpreting civil, architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, and Bluebeam; familiarity with Procore, PlanGrid, or similar platforms is a plus.
· OSHA 30-hour certification preferred; CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
· Ability to manage time effectively, multitask in a fast-paced environment, and build strong working relationships across trades.
· Ability to rapidly change focus between tasks, trades, buildings, or construction phases, while maintaining attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
· Willingness to work flexible hours or weekends when needed to support project goals.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills preferred but not required.
· Familiarity with drone usage for documenting site progress is a plus.
