About The Role:

Are you passionate about empowering teachers to be rock stars and foster engaging and fun learning environments for children? Do you have experience with leadership roles in a classroom or school setting? Do you have an educational background in education and education management and expertise in classroom and student observation analysis? If you re continually pondering the best ways to nurture Generation Alpha and are eager to be at the forefront of such efforts, you might be the ideal candidate for our STEM Summer Camp Coach role.

Your Canvas:

1. Quality Assurance

• Observe site directors and teachers to ensure all camp protocols are implemented properly, and the quality of the camp experience exceeds NORY standards.
• Through written reports and after camp recap meetings, report the feedback of each campsite and camp staff member to set coaching goals.
• Train and coach teachers to become the rock stars of our campsites by fostering a positive and supportive learning environment for both teachers and camp participants.
• Observe and evaluate teachers' performance, providing constructive feedback to enhance teaching methods and camp experience.
• Build healthy and positive relationships with the teachers to learn about their struggles and provide support, including stepping in when a campsite staff member calls out.

2. Child Development Insight:

• Coach the site directors and teachers on how to manage behavior issues and foster positive reinforcement in the classroom.
• Coach age-appropriate language and manner for each age group.
• Provide feedback to the curriculum team regarding child development aspects of the lesson plans.

3. Knowledge of Special Education (Plus):

• Support campers with special needs and conduct positive and effective communication with parents on 1:1 Support Service.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Compensation: $25 - $40/hr (15-40 hours per week)
• Benefits: 401K for those who worked at NORY for 12 months or more
