The Instructor will be responsible for programming and delivering a field games sports class to kids aged 5-7 and 8-10. The instructor will be responsible for creating lessons and teaching the fundamentals of various field games and sports such as: relay races, soccer, ultimate frisbee, flag football, volleyball, capture the flag etc. The instructor must have the ability to engage with a diverse group of children and manage an outdoor classroom of students. A passion for sports and field games are a must!Start Date:6/24/2024Work Weeks:
  • 2 weeks of camp: July 1-5 (no camp 7/4/24), July 8-12
Camp Schedule:
  • Daily Hours: 1:15pm-5:45pm
  • Paid prep time
  • Work dates are contingent on camps meeting the minimum enrollment
Pay Range:
  • $24.50-$26.50/hr
Activity Camp Location:
  • Garfield Community Center
Summer Activity Camp: Field Games Camp Instructor Requirements:
  • Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate activity camp lesson plans/activities to kids ages 5-12 for a camp running 4 hours per day, 20 hours a week
  • Maintain documentation on camp participants to ensure security and youth safety- including but not limited to sign in sheets, medical needs and parenting plans
  • Use critical thinking to problem-solve and manage conflict
  • Generate supply lists for each camp; there will be some class supply funds available
  • Maintain camp appropriate professional appearance
  • Daily set-up, take down and cleaning of space
Summer Activity Camp: Field Games Camp Instructor Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Prior youth programming experience required
  • Must have demonstrated working experience working with families, community members and partners to foster positive relationships
