Substitute Teacher - Available Positions : Job Details

Short-term substitute teachers serve one or more days when teachers are absent from school. Long-term substitutes work daily for an extended period when a teacher's absence is prolonged.Responsibilities include:•Cover assigned teacher's classroom and non-classroom responsibilities•Report student attendance and lunch count to the main office•Monitor and ensure student safety at all times•Provide instruction based on lesson plans left by the teacher•Supervise recess and/or lunch duty according to teacher's supervision schedule•Collect and secure assignments to be graded by the teacherIn addition to the above, long-term substitutes also•Make lesson plans following the curriculum•Grade assignments, tests and quizzes•Attend faculty meetings as part of the staffLong-term substitutes are compensated at a higher rate than short-term substitutes.RequirementsMinimum of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university. Note: All employees are required to consent to a background check, commit to our Code of Conduct policy, and complete online and in-person trainings prior to hire.
