Essex Westford School District (EWSD) has an opportunity for a Substitute Support Specialist to join the team at Essex High School. This position provides student supervisory duties to ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all students while serving as an administrative school-wide resource. This position is a fantastic opportunity for a paraeducator seeking more experience and/or those interested in becoming a special educator or classroom teacher. The Substitute Support Specialist is full-time, 8 hours per day, during the school year. Primary job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Supervise students as requested (during lunch, study hall, before and after school, etc.)
  • Short-term substitute coverage for licensed educator positions across a variety of content areas
  • Short-term substitue coverage for a variety of paraeducator positions
  • Provide general administrative, classroom, and school-wide support
