The candidate must have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, and five to ten years of experience with high voltage substation design. Substation design encompasses distribution, sub-transmission and transmission level voltage classes. Experience with Bentley ProjectWise, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam Revu PDF Editor is required. Experience with STAAD, MathCAD, LPILE, RISA or equivalent engineering software is preferred. Some travel will be required for this role. A professional Engineering License is preferred. The candidate must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. A flexible work schedule (hybrid or remote) is available.Typical responsibilities include:Responsible for structural design of electrical substation structures and foundationsPrepare and review calculations following industry standard methods and principlesProvide technical guidance and direction to junior engineersAssist in developing, maintaining and updating engineering standardsPerform detailed quality reviews of project deliverablesAttend and/or conduct client and project meetingsAttend site visits as requiredPromote salesReview scope, budget and schedule for project tasksAssist with proposals, marketing, project reports and technical presentationsMaintain excellent client relationsMaintain a safe working environmentEducation:Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is requiredSkills/Experience:5-10 years of civil/structural experience with high voltage substation design is requiredExperience with Bentley ProjectWise, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam Revu PDF Editor is requiredStrong knowledge of utility standards, AISC, ASCE, ACI, IBC, and an understanding of construction techniques is requiredProfessional Engineering License is preferredExperience with STAAD, MathCAD, LPILE, RISA or equivalent engineering software is preferredCandidate must be willing to travelAbout Wade Trim:Wade Trim is committed to maximizing the value of infrastructure investments.
