We are seeking an experienced Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) to join a Bronx-based care team as a part of a reputable NYC-based non-profit organization that strives to improve the lives of homeless, at-risk, and mentally ill individuals. This role offers the chance to provide meaningful, recovery-focused care within a supportive housing setting.

Substance Abuse Counselor Key Responsibilities:

In this Substance Abuse Counselor role, you will:

• Manage a caseload of clients with complex needs, providing counseling and individualized support
• Develop recovery-focused care plans and regularly evaluate progress toward wellness goals
• Deliver one-on-one and group-based services focused on relapse prevention, recovery skills, and emotional regulation
• Link clients to medical, mental health, and substance use treatment services across the community
• Support clients in accessing benefits, budgeting, and building life skills for long-term stability
• Plan and facilitate educational sessions, sober social activities, and wellness workshops
• Maintain accurate documentation that meets organizational and regulatory standards

Substance Abuse Counselor Requirements:

• CASAC Certification — Required
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field — Required
• Minimum 3 years of experience in substance use counseling
