The role of the Subject Matter Expert is to provide day-to-day implementation support for structured wiring and telecommunication system installations. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing infrastructure wiring, and leading on-site efforts for network cable installations, including copper, category cable, and fiber optic cabling.

• Provide SME knowledge of C4I systems and NIWC procedures.
• Use tools and test equipment effectively.
• Review and analyze technical drawings and system diagrams, providing red lines and As-Builts.
• Offer technical solutions for installation discrepancies.
• Coordinate, organize, and communicate effectively within teams.
• Work in confined spaces, on ladders, and steep staircases as needed.
• Develop material and equipment requirements.
• Support development and completion of project drawing packages.
• Terminate, splice, test, maintain, and repair fiber optic (including fusion splicing), copper, and coaxial cabling.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience in telecommunications installation, testing, and maintenance.
• Current BICSI certifications.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
• Successful pre-employment background check and drug test.

• Knowledge of SIPH, NIWC, and Shore procedures.
• ETA Certified Fiber Optic Installer.
• Knowledge of C4I systems.
• Familiarity with SPAWAR SIPH.

• Work on military bases, in overhead ceilings, confined spaces.
• Ability to carry loads up to 50 pounds unaided or 90 pounds aided.
