Subcontractor Specialist (Part Time) - Yawp
Specific Responsibilities
- Reports directly to Program Coordinator.
- Review contracts for understanding and communication/summarization of key points to program leadership and DOC partners (e.g., vendor agreements, service contracts, MOUs, NDAs).
- Identify and recommend revisions to contract terms, including payment terms, liability clauses, termination language, and scope of work as needed.
- Draft suggested language for modifications and scope of work and provide clear summaries of proposed changes.
- Collaborate with Contract and Data Specialists, Young Adult Workforce Program Leadership, and DOC Liaisons to ensure that contract terms are being met by all parties.
- Assist Contract and Data Specialists and Program Leadership in audit and quarterly reporting of subcontractor deliverables and provision of services as outlined in the contracts.
- Track contract versions.
- Ensure the integrity of the program, communicating with the New York City Department of Education and the Department of Corrections on jail and community-based program progress.
- Participation in mandatory meetings and training at Department of Corrections facilities as needed including Riker's Island.

- Maximum of 26 hours per week.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field or equivalent professional experience.
- Ability to obtain Department of Corrections clearance and work within the constraints of facility guidelines. Including lock downs and personal screenings, this can be changed at the discretion of the Department of Correction.
- Excellent Microsoft Office and Database
- Strong understanding of standard contract terms and basic risk management principles.
- Experience reviewing and editing contracts in a legal, compliance, or business setting.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Paralegal or JD certification is a plus.

Education
Required
Bachelors or better in Business Administration.
Preferred
Associates or better in Business Administration or related field.
