This position is responsible, in support of the Principal Projects Consultant, and in coordination with the lead members of the Silvertip front-end-loading technical team for study project management and technical coordination to ensure effective and timely advancement of Silvertip front-end-loading studies. This position serves as the Silvertip Project Development Team's technical management and governance coordination representative to effectively support the Project Development and Exploration Team's success, incorporate the Coeur Silvertip project development strategy and approach, and to drive timely and complete delivery of study scopes, inputs and outputs to achieve excellence in and effective Silvertip project front-end-loading development. This position requires previous experience in and a detailed understanding of geology, exploration and in-fill drilling, underground mine development, underground mine planning and stope access and development, geo-metallurgical processes, resource and reserve development and conversion, data management and coordination, mineral processing, mine site infrastructure, dry-stack tailings infrastructure, PAG/NAG material management, rock material handling, permitting, community engagement, metal sales, financial modeling and analysis and project technical stakeholder engagement and communications principles and practices. Please note, this role is only on a consulting/professional services agreement (PSA) basis for a period of approximately 18 months.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports the Principal Projects Consultant in overall study execution oversight, delivery of the studies according to the Silvertip Accountabilities Matrix, management and controls systems implementation in the scoping, development, tracking, forecasting, analysis, day-to-day management, change management, KPI's and reporting of study and front-end-loading execution, contingency and risk management, safety, costs, and schedules.
  • Lead the development of the study execution strategy and study execution plan, detailed scope of work, budget, schedule, and funding for each stage of front-end-loading.
  • Work closely with business development, operations and exploration to identify opportunities to enhance Silvertip' strategic value and business case.
  • Manage the Silvertip front-end-loading studies through all stages of the project life cycle from initiation through to each study phase approval and close-out.
  • Supports the Principal Projects Consultant in the development of baseline scope, cost, schedule, risk profile, AFE, and periodic auditing as required to implement and comply with required corporate governance policies and procedures.
  • Supports the Principal Projects Consultant, and monitors in collaboration with the Manager, Resource Development Coordination, Senior Director, Technical Services, and Silvertip Exploration Manager in overall Silvertip project exploration, in-fill drilling planning and resource conversion, reserve development planning, and mine development and stope planning project deliverables, status monitoring, expediting, coordination and review for the PEA and later front-end-loading studies.
  • Supports and works collaboratively with the Vice President, Projects and Engineering, Senior Director, Technical Services, Silvertip Exploration Manager, and Silvertip Permitting Manager in data collection and updates to the Geo-metallurgical model, geo-sciences project deliverables, process design criteria, PAG/NAG material balances, site water balance. Supports maintaining and updating the geo-metallurgical testing database to ensure it provides the required accuracy and functions to support all aspects of front-end-loading studies.
  • Supports and works collaboratively with the Vice President, Projects and Engineering and Silvertip Permitting Manager, and Site Operations Manager in technical design development of site, site infrastructure and access, process plant, process controls, mine and process support facilities, PAG/NAG material storage, site water handling and treatment, electrical power generation and transmission, camp support facilities, and temporary facilities and site to support project development and construction.
  • In appropriate stages of front-end-loading, works with operations and maintenance resources to establish the scopes and approaches to process control, operational readiness, pre-commissioning, testing, commissioning, and hand-over.
  • Ensure health and safety principles are incorporated into the Silvertip development and study execution scopes to reduce/eliminate control risks.
  • Directs and supervises assigned third-party contractors in the execution of their assigned scopes of work and development of weekly and monthly reports, project cost and schedule updates, and safety and risk monitoring and tracking.
  • Support the development of and maintain a consistent application of project and study management methodology and guidelines to ensure effective study execution and delivery.

Supervisory Responsibilities This position is not responsible for directly supervising others but does influence employees and all levels of management in the day-to-day interactions. Will provide direction and guidance to peers and less experienced professionals requiring significant indirect leadership skills. Education and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Engineering, Geo-Sciences, Project Management, or similar area of study and twenty (20) years of relevant work experience. MBA or MS degree in an Engineering or Geo-Science field of study will be well regarded.
  • Relevant Work Experience: Relevant, demonstrated work experience in the concepts of Project Management, Technical Study and Engineering Management, Procurement Management, Construction Management, Jobsite Safety and Critical Risk Management, Project Controls, Cost Engineering, Scheduling, Earned Value Management, Project Risk Assessment and Management, Estimating, Operational Readiness, Pre-commissioning and Commissioning (in addition to education requirement).
  • Relevant Canadian professional engineering registration and Qualified Person (QP) registration are well regarded
Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
  • Experience in mining project development in the province of BC, Canada will be well regarded
  • Previous mine operations management experience will be well regarded
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
  • Advanced understanding/knowledge of project front-end loading, execution and controls processes
  • Advanced understanding of SEC SK-1300 project development standards and practices
  • May act as a Qualified Person for areas of Silvertip studies
