Admittedly, we are not there, but we think about this with every hire and person who enters our buildings.Job SummaryThe Students Groups and Operations Director for Crossroads will play a pivotal role in providing leadership, coordination, and oversight for various aspects of Crossroads Student Ministry. This includes direct management of small groups, leadership over connections team, involved in parent and leader communication, weekly operations, and special events. The Groups and Operations Director will also be responsible for supervising and guiding the volunteer teams that contribute to the success of these areas. This position will play a vital role in shaping the spiritual growth and development of volunteers and students while ensuring a seamless and vibrant ministry experience. This position reports directly to the East Side Student Ministry Director and helps lead the Student Ministry team at Crossroads East Side.Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the development, organization, and implementation of small groups within the student ministry, fostering a supportive and growth-oriented environment.
- Manage the Connections (first impressions) team to ensure a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all students, parents, and visitors.
- Cultivate and maintain effective communication channels to connect with volunteers, students, & parents, providing updates and facilitating their involvement in the ministry.
- Coordinate and manage the operational aspects and teams for weekly student ministry services, including logistics, resources, and scheduling.
- Help plan, execute, and oversee special events within the Crossroads Students, collaborating with relevant teams to ensure successful outcomes.
- Recruit, train, and provide ongoing support to volunteers involved in various ministry areas, fostering a strong sense of teamwork ownership and commitment.
- Collaborate with other ministry leaders and staff to align efforts, share resources, and ensure a cohesive overall experience.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of ministry programs, making necessary adjustments to enhance impact and reach.
- Assist in budget planning and management for areas under responsibility.
- Uphold the values and mission of Crossroads and Crossroads Students, serving as a model and spiritual leader for students and volunteers.
Job Qualifications
- Education/Experience
- Minimum of 2 years working in the field preferred
Critical Qualities
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven, dynamic communicator to large groups of students and/or adults
- Naturally magnetic, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and adult leaders
- Experience developing and leading high capacity volunteer leaders; strong leadership skills
- Passion to draw grades 6th- 12th into overall mission of Crossroads
- Ability to handle conflict and difficult conversations among volunteers, kids, and parents
- Ability to determine what is working and what is not in weekend experiences, resources for students and parents, and other resources/experiences provided by Student Ministry Site Support Team
- Provide critical feedback to improve experiences and resources
- Must be a self-starter and have a teachable spirit
- Able to effectively communicate and collaborate with staff and leaders
- Demonstrate flexibility, responsibility, dependability, and follow through
- Ability to see the big picture and simultaneously attend to details
- Understand budget constraints and operate within those boundaries
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Work both independently and within a team
- Must commit to expectations detailed in the “I Promise” document, including using the Bible as the ultimate standard of truth, practicing spiritual disciplines and pursuing personal purity
- Be a part of the Crossroads community and engaged in its overall vision
Physical Requirements
- Performs effectively under pressure, and against strict time constraints.
- Must be able to walk up to 5 miles, standing, climbing, lifting, pulling, and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, and stooping as duties required.
- Must be able to lift 25 to 50 lbs
Scheduling / Travel Requirements
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends and other high impact events at Crossroads.
