Team members consist of: Communication Center Representative:Communication Center Representatives are often the 'digital' first point of contact for students and their families seeking admission to Millersville University. This position receives and distributes all the general internal messages (text messages, live agent calls, emails) received by the department. The Communications Center Representative is the liaison between Millersville University and its current and prospective students and families. Front Desk Attendant:Front Desk Attendants greet visitors to the Lombardo Welcome Center and assist those guests in meeting with Lombardo residents or correctly redirecting them to other buildings and personnel. Front Desk Attendants help create a first impression of Millersville University for our in-person guests, setting the tone of the visit by demonstrating the University's EPPIIC values of Professionalism and Compassion. Tour Guides:Campus Tour Guides share with prospective students and family members what life is like as an MU student. Each guide utilizes their unique experience to paint a picture of what their day is like as they traverse campus sharing information about the buildings, people, programs, and culture of Millersville University. Required Qualifications
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Computer skills (Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
- Willingness to perform varied duties.
- Ability to multitask and work with multiple projects at one time
- Are articulate, professional, and responsible.
- Are full-time or part-time with the intention to remain at MU for at least a year.
- Share our strong enthusiasm for Millersville University.

- Can maintain at least a 2.25 GPA (cumulative and by semester).
- Must complete 3 required clearances (PA Criminal Background, Child Abuse History, and FBI Fingerprints).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in any of the above mentioned areas.
- Bilingual or Multi-lingual.
- Have been at Millersville University for at least one semester.
- Know our campus, its events, programs, and activities well.
Job DutiesTask may include but are not limited to:
- Work a minimum of two (2), two to four hour shifts each week subject to calendar and schedule availability.
- Assist in a minimum of two (2) University Special Events outside of the typical shift schedule per semester. These include:
- Open Houses for high school juniors and seniors.
- Admitted Students Expos for admitted and deposited prospective students.
- Other Admissions Department events (Multicultural Visitation Program, High School Counselor visits, etc.).
- Serve as the initial contact for customer service inquiries from prospective students, families, and community members.
- Answer phones and transfer accordingly.
- Organize, stamp and deliver mail to appropriate staff member.
- Provide a positive experience and accurate information by welcoming, greeting, and directing all guests appropriately.
- Assist the Lombardo Welcome Center Coordinator in maintaining the inviting appearance of the Lombardo Welcome Center and the Anderson Presentation Room.
- Help maintain/construct the adequate supply of guests' folders to hand out to our guests.
- Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Each team member receives comprehensive training. Hours are flexible and students are paid at an hourly rate.
- Be able to sit and use a computer for the length of shift.
- Be able to walk or stand for long periods of time.
