Flexible working hours - 10-20 hrs per week Sunday-Saturday between the hours of 7am and 1am Desired Length of Employment: Fall 2025-Ongoing Pay Rate: 8 Job Description: Job Summary: The purpose of the Office Assistant (OA) position is to provide administrative support to on-campus communities at Baylor University. As employees of Campus Living & Learning, we expect OAs to recognize the value and importance of the on-campus living experience. In this way, the OA should be a helpful resource and referral agent for residents, parents, visitors, and faculty/staff in our communities. OAs are expected to uphold Campus Living & Learning's Customer Service Standards. In addition, the OA plays a vital role in the safety and security of our residential communities by being aware of escort and visitation policies, verifying resident identity when applicable, and communicating issues of concern to other residence hall support staff. Job Functions: i. Monitor door security and inform appropriate staff if any issues arise [i.e., Community Leaders (CLs), Residence Hall Director (RHD), and Safety and Security Education Officers (SSEOs)] ii. Provide administrative support to residents including, but not limited to: room access support [e.g., unlock codes], and checking out equipment iii. Assist in maintaining accurate log books for unlock codes, maintenance issues, equipment check-out, lost and found, and gift registries iv. Be knowledgeable of on-campus locations and resources v. Support residents in communicating issues of concern to other members of the hall staff vi. Enforce and uphold Campus Living & Learning policies and procedures vii. Complete other administrative tasks as assigned by the supervising RHD Learning Outcomes: i. Excellent customer service skills (in-person, per telephone, and via email) ii. Organization and creativity in administrative responsibilities iii. Proficiency in problem-solving; responding to issues with consistency, accuracy, and adaptability iv. Understanding of the internal operations of a major, complex system (i.e. residence hall). v. This includes but is not limited to: facilities management, technical operations, safety & security monitoring. Required Skills: i. Typing ii. Ability to learn a computer program for Front Desk functions iii. Ability to complete administrative tasks as requested iv. Ability to provide customer service to a diverse population v. Ability to work on a team vi. Time management vii. Sound judgement to respond to needs or crises as they arise Provide general office assistance and support Greet clients and visitors with excellent customer service; answer inquiries and provide information Maintain files and reports and ensure confidentiality of information Assist with various projects, activities or tasks as needed Ability to comply with University policies Maintain regular and punctual attendance
