Desired Length of Employment: Spring/Summer/Fall Pay Rate: $8-8.50 per hour Job Description: Baylor's University Scholars office is looking for a new Office Assistant for the fall 2023-spring 2024 academic year. This position is open to UNSC majors only. The UNSC Program Office Assistant may be asked to perform a wide range of services. This is a busy office with a lot of responsibility. In order to take care of business accurately and efficiently, we rely on the student assistants to be here when scheduled and to complete their required hours. We are also a people-oriented office, which requires us to assist offices in and out of our department in a pleasant manner. This attitude is especially important when we are working under pressure to complete other tasks. It is very important that students accepting a position with the Honors Program have the following attributes:

As a student assistant in this office, some of the things you will be required to do are:
- Greet the public in a pleasant and professional manner
- Pick up, sort, and process incoming and outgoing mail
- Assist with coordinating special events
- Assist with occasional special research projects
- Run errands as needed by office personnel
- Perform other tasks as assigned by office personnel
- Give directions to visiting families
- Copying/scanning documents
- Some computer work
- Provide general office assistance and support
- Greet clients and visitors with excellent customer service; answer inquiries and provide information
- Maintain files and reports and ensure confidentiality of information
- Assist with various projects, activities or tasks as needed
- Ability to comply with University policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
During the course of employment, student assistants may encounter confidential information. Appropriate action should be taken to ensure the protection, confidentiality and security of confidential information. A violation of this policy will result in an employee's termination and will be dealt with accordingly. Your academic success is very important to us. Therefore, you must maintain a 3.5 GPA for continued employment with the UNSC Program. This will be confirmed each semester. This position is not your standard work study position.
