POSITION OVERVIEW As a Student Support Specialist, you'll provide targeted academic and behavioral support to students across our award-winning charter schools. Working closely with teachers, administrators, and families, you'll implement personalized interventions that help every student succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. WHAT YOU'LL DO Deliver Targeted Academic Support:

• Provide one-on-one and small group instruction in core subjects (reading, writing, math, science, social studies)
• Assist special education case managers and classroom teachers with implementing intervention strategies and curriculum modifications
• Monitor student progress and assess effectiveness of academic interventions
• Document interventions, collect data, and generate detailed progress reports

Foster Social-Emotional Growth:

• Develop and implement individualized behavior plans for students requiring additional support
• Lead social skills groups to build relationship and communication abilities
• Teach self-regulation, decision-making, and social-emotional learning strategies
• Support students in developing confidence and resilience

Build Collaborative Partnerships:

• Communicate regularly with teachers and parents about student growth and improvement strategies
• Participate in teacher/parent conferences and student evaluation meetings
• Refer students to counseling or special education services when appropriate
• Maintain accurate student records and comprehensive documentation

WHAT YOU BRING Essential Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent with minimum 3 years related professional experience
• Strong commitment to One City's mission and working with diverse student populations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning new technology
• Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving abilities
• Physical ability to lift and push at least 50 pounds
• Successful completion of background check
