Job Summary

The position is a part of the Student Affairs team and is responsible for leading the Student Life Department, coordinating and facilitating student activities & events, supervising student organizations, managing the Food Pantry/Sharing Shelves and the Mailroom, and facilitating the coordination of summer camps & conferences. The Manager also serves as the Advisor for the Student Government Association and serves as a member of the Student Conduct Committee. The Manager directly supervises work-study students and part-time employees.

This role involves multiple responsibilities and frequent interactions with students, colleagues, parents, and guests. The goal of this position is to support and enhance the student experience with a focus on encouraging student success and exhibiting excellence in all tasks and responsibilities. This position requires adaptability, professionalism, and a commitment to creating and maintaining a positive and engaging experience for students.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • NCTC Student Affairs Team Member: Provide a positive experience for students, parents, guests, and colleagues.
  • Develop, coordinate, implement, and support co-curricular events and activities that help foster a vibrant and engaged campus community.
  • Supervise Student Organizations.
  • Serve as a member of the Awareness Team.
  • Serve as the advisor for the Student Government Association.
  • Coordinate the operations of the Food Pantry/Sharing Shelves.
  • Coordinate the operations of the Mailroom.
  • Supervise work-study students.
  • Facilitate the coordination of summer camps & conferences.
  • Assist with the review of student appeals as a member of the Student Conduct Committee; Assist the Dean of Students in investigating alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct as needed.
  • Assist the Executive Director of Student Affairs & Dean of Students with ongoing assessment of departmental processes and procedures; Assist with the preparation of annual reports.
  • Stay aware of campus services, programs, resources, and other opportunities to aid in the retention of students.
  • Lead and/or serve on college committees; Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Learn and use technology platforms, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Canvas, Jenzabar, MyNCTC and other departmental applications.
  • Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change based on the needs of the department and the institution.

Required Experience

Three (3) years of Student Life/Student Affairs experience or related experience (Residence Life, Leadership or Supervisory Roles).

Preferred Experience

Five (5) years of Student Life/Student Affairs experience or related experience (Residence Life, Leadership or Supervisory Roles).
