This role assists in monitoring vital signs, personal care, activities of daily living, and maintaining a clean and orderly patient environment. The Student Nursing Assistant serves as a vital support to the nursing team, contributing to quality patient care while gaining practical experience in an acute care hospital setting.Essential Functions
- Assist patients with personal care activities, including bathing, grooming, feeding, and ambulation.
- Monitor and document vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and respiratory rate.
- Report abnormal findings or changes in patient conditions to the nursing staff promptly.
- Assist with measuring and recording intake and output (I&O).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient rooms and common areas, ensuring a safe environment.
- Assist in restocking patient care supplies and maintaining supply levels as directed.
- Support patient mobility and assist with transferring patients as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff, ensuring patient comfort and confidentiality.
- Provide emotional support to patients and families while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising RN or charge nurse.

QualificationsEducation
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Completion of the first semester of a Nursing Program required.
Licenses/Certifications
