Reporting to the Director of Global Engagement, the SEVIS Coordinator will ensure that the Student Exchange Visitors Information System (SEVIS) database of Rivier University international students fully complies with the immigration regulations. Responsible for complying with all related SEVIS reporting requirements, including creating, processing, and reporting each SEVIS-related action. In collaboration with the International Student Records Coordinator, the SEVIS Coordinator ensures that all admitted students of Rivier University are guided throughout the admissions process related to their SEVIS immigration records until the end of the students' post OPT/STEM period. This professional will be a Designated School Official (DSO) for Rivier University's F1 program. Duties and Responsibilities•Maintains the SEVIS RTI database to ensure compliance with F/SEVIS immigration regulations on international students.•Collaborates with the International Student Record Coordinator in tracking international students' records, including semester enrollment, and all pertinent SEVIS reporting requirements.•Advises students on Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training /STEM (OPT/STEM), and other matters requiring attention related to employment authorization processes.•Works with the Academic Advisor and Academic Program Coordinators about academic internships (CPT)•Provides support alongside the Office of Global Engagement Director and Academic Advisor in academic, personal, social, cultural, and other matters affecting a student's SEVIS record.•Establish and maintain good rapport with students and contribute to a welcoming community for all international students on campus.•Stay abreast of F1regulations and procedures in international education.•Knowledge of FERPA requirements for the security of applicants and student information.•Perform related duties as assigned. Qualifications•Candidate must possess a bachelor's degree.•Enthusiastic about working with international students, advising, and supporting the university's mission of transforming hearts and minds to serve the world. •3-5 years of professional experience in international education, including knowledge of and experience with U.S. federal regulations governing non-immigrant visa categories, with a focus on F-1 (student) and SEVIS compliance, is preferred.•Knowledge of general office procedures and practices.•Understanding of FERPA, TITLE IX, and other related guidelines.•Strong organizational and time management skills.•Must be eligible for employment in the United States of America to serve as a Designated School Official.•Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.•Must demonstrate experience with high attention to detail and the ability to work with a diverse campus community.•A strong team player with the ability to prioritize and multitask.•Evidence of strong organizational skills.•Ability to maintain confidentiality.•Computer skills and proficiency with various computer applications, including word-processing and reporting platforms, as well as online calendaring and email (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, CAMS, and Canvas).•Practical problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to take initiative.
