Salary : $32,000.00 - $36,000.00 Annually Location : Grambling Job Type: Full-Time Unclassified Job Number: 202200324 Division: Athletics Department: Intercollegiate Athletics Opening Date: 07/08/2025 Closing Date: 10/31/2025 11:59 PM Central Job Summary The position is responsible for assisting the daily operation of the academic services to include monitoring and rules education program. Providing leadership of academic support services for assigned sports, and ensuring compliance with all university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. Job Duties & Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • Monitor academic progress of student-athletes in compliance with NCAA, Southwestern Athletic Conference and the Grambling State University rules and regulations
  • Coordinate academic intervention services to support student-athletes retention, completion, and transfer preparation
  • Work with coaches, staff and professors to foster an atmosphere that retain student-athletes and culminates in graduation from the University
  • Setting educational goals, academic planning and tracking progress
  • Perform degree audits, verifying graduation application and ensuring eligibility compliance
  • Coordinate graduation plans
  • Monitoring continuing eligibility APR
  • Assist with on-campus recruiting
  • Be available to work nights and weekends
  • Maintains accurate and current student-athletes files for assigned sports
Qualifications Minimum:
  • Bachelor's Degree is required in education or related field
  • One or more years of experience in education, psychology, counseling or related field (may include graduate assistantship or experience as a student-athlete)
  • Effective written/oral communication
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must have knowledge of NCAA Division 1 Bylaws
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail
  • Ability to work with students and staff from diverse backgrounds
Preferred:
  • Master's Degree
  • Previous experience in intercollegiate athletics
