Student Assistant, International Admission

Only Open to Federal Work Study Award Recipients

The student assistants will work collaboratively in the International Admission Department responding to and cataloging general inquiries, maintaining digital records, preparing recruitment materials for events, and performing various administrative tasks. The incumbent will serve as a primary point of contact for inquiries directed to International Admission from internal and external stakeholders. The student assistant reports directly to the Associate Director of International Admission. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated individual who can work independently, but is also a team player. The ideal candidate for this position is a student who is interested in leveraging their own prospective student experience and working on a small team with a focus on fielding inquiries from prospective International students. Experience in admissions, office administration and customer service is a plus. Applicants must be enrolled in a full time program at The New School; students from all academic disciplines are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to students who have experience living or studying outside of the United States. Strong writing skills are essential. Applicants will be asked to complete a brief writing assignment during the application process.

This position is only open to students residing in the United States for the duration of employment. Applicants who do not reside in the United States will not be considered. Priority will be given to applicants who hold a Federal Work Study award.

Responsibilities:

? Monitoring International admission recruitment inquiries and fielding replies

? Draft email response templates for commonly asked questions

? Provide administrative support to International Admission team

? Assist with admission and recruitment event preparations

? Additional project-based tasks as needed

Work Modality:

Remote - Employees in this position will work remotely, and are not expected to report to an office on campus. The university has designated specific states in which it will register and in which Fully Remote employees will perform work.

Hourly Rate: $15-17
