Structures/Heavy Fabrications Design Engineer - Caterpillar : Job Details

This position will support the Off-Highway Truck Structures team, focusing on continuous product improvement, improvement to design for manufacturability, potential cost reduction updates and current production in Decatur, IL and Thiruvallur, India. The position will also have the opportunity to be exposed to, and support, new product introduction designs. What you will have:Proficiency with 3 D modeling software (Creo preferred, Solidworks or equivalent acceptable). Previous experience designing welded & machined heavy structures. Understanding of the Continuous Project Improvement (CPI) process. Experience collaborating with Suppliers (internal or external) to optimize designs for manufacturability. Experience operations and manufacturing processes such as: welding, machining, forging and foundry.
