Position Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering has an opening for a dynamic Experienced Structural Engineer in our Temporary Works Group. The ideal candidate will be part of a growing team supporting all aspects of construction through innovative design engineering, structural calculations, plan development, scheduling, and risk mitigation to ensure safety.

Our group specializes in designing and building temporary structures, providing on-site engineering and coordination support, and supporting design-build tasks such as bridge erection & demolition, cofferdam design, crane lifts, erection sequencing, deep foundations, marine engineering, and more.

District Overview

Kiewit's Design Build Management team drives project success by managing multi-disciplinary design teams, resolving design issues proactively, and minimizing project risks. We focus on safe, cost-effective, and innovative designs that meet client expectations, fostering career growth and offering comprehensive benefits.

Location

This position is based out of our Woodcliff Lake, NJ or Manhattan, NY offices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop drawings and calculations for temporary works and construction methods, including heavy lift plans, erection procedures, evaluation of existing structures, and design of temporary supports.
  • Review calculations and design drawings for compliance with codes, standards, and client criteria.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of deliverables.
  • Identify and mitigate design risks.
  • Assist in project management tasks such as budgeting, scheduling, and client communication.
  • Provide on-site engineering support, inspections, training, and mentoring.
  • Qualifications

    • Experience with temporary structures and construction engineering.
    • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's preferred.
    • 5-10 years of relevant experience.
    • PE licensure or eligibility in the U.S.
    • Proficiency with engineering software like AutoCAD, BlueBeam, MathCAD, Navisworks, RISA-3D.
    • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to travel and work at various sites.

    Other requirements include reliable attendance, effective communication, safety awareness, and flexibility to work overtime or at different locations.

    Base salary ranges from $120,000 to $145,609, with comprehensive benefits including health plans, retirement, and paid time off.
