Structural Designer - Genesis Technical Staffing : Job Details

Genesis Technical is seeking Marine Structural Designers for contract to direct opportunities in Newport News, VA.Basic Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
• Associate's Degree or 3+ Years of relevant experience in lieu of an Associate's Degree.
• 3+ years of experience with Structural Design, 2D Drawing development.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Experience working in the shipbuilding industry.
• Demonstrated proficiency of drafting methods, procedures and techniques.
• Experience in drafting methods, procedures and techniques.
• Must be able to work some overtime as required.
• Strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint Skills Required.
• Excellent Oral, Written and Presentation Skills.
• Strong Time Management and Organization Skills as an Independent Contributor.
• Demonstrated Interpersonal Skills as a member of a Collaborative multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Structural Design experience on Naval and/or commercial Shipbuilding programs.
• Developing 2D Detail Drawing Extractions in ShipConstructor.
• Experience with PDF Editing Programs (Bluebeam Preferred).
• Knowledge of standards and regulatory body requirements.
• Shipyard Production/Fabrication practices / knowledge
• Knowledge of Welding and associated symbols.
