Structural Design Engineer - Nebraska Staffing : Job Details

Nucor Detailing Center and Vulcraft Nebraska are looking for a structural design engineer in our Norfolk, NE locations. As a structural design engineer, you will specialize in designing fabricated products, systems, and/or structures to withstand various loads and/or environmental conditions. Basic job functions are as follows:

• Provide general structural engineering services and guidance for internal Nucor divisions including the design/analysis of conventional steel structures, connections, truss & box girders, lifting devices, reinforcement details, and basic foundations.
• Use structural engineering principles and our proprietary software to design steels joists and joist girders to ensure public safety.
• Collaborate with Detailing, Shop Order, and Production teammates to ensure quality and on-time delivery of products.
• Promote our products by being involved in business development activities such as direct engagement with industry professionals, delivering lunch-and-learn presentations, and being an exhibitor at trade shows.
• Continuously develops self and invests in team through mentorship and engagement in professional development activities.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline from an ABET accredited program
• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification

Preferred Qualifications:

• PE license or desire, ability, and dedication to obtain a license
• MS in Civil/Structural Engineering
