This position will be filled at one of the following levels depending upon the candidate's qualifications: Strategic Sourcing Specialist II ( $69,950.40 - $97,593.60 Annually) This position supports the strategic sourcing and procurement activities of Metro Water Recovery. They are responsible for the strategic acquisition of goods and services, including the creation and management of contracts in alignment with Metro's purchasing strategy and Metro's mission. Works under the general supervision of the Purchasing Operations Manager. Strategic Sourcing Specialist III ($81,577.60 - $113,817.60 Annually) Responsible for strategic sourcing of high-value and high-risk complex goods and services, as well as contract management, category management, and supplier management. Acts as a subject matter expert regarding Metro's Purchasing policies and procedures. Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure Metro's purchasing needs are met and in alignment with Metro's mission. Collaborates with the Sr. Purchasing Manager and mentors staff. Works independently, but under the general supervision of the Purchasing Operations Manager. Qualifications: Strategic Sourcing Specialist II Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge of: General Procurement methodologies and best practices The Purchase-to-Pay process workflow MS Office software and other business-related software and equipment Skilled at: Working in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and inventory control system General market analysis and understanding of general sources of supply Analyzing and summarizing data Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing Problem solving Organizing and managing multiple tasks Prioritizing assigned workload Providing customer service to internal and external stakeholders Ability to: Work independently Identify cost savings opportunities. Follow and comply with policies and procedures Consistently apply concepts, tools, and processes to daily work Learn and adopt new and additional processes and concepts that apply to current workflow Education Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration or related field. A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Strategic Sourcing Specialist III Knowledge of: Advanced Procurement methodologies and best practices MS Office software and other business-related software and equipment Skilled at: Working in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and inventory control system Higher Excel functions and calculations and providing analysis Performing market analysis and understanding of general sources of supply Effective written and verbal communication Complex problem solving Organizing and managing multiple tasks Proactively seeking sourcing opportunities and engaging with stakeholders Collaborating with diverse stakeholders Ability to: Apply continuous improvement concepts to drive process and operational efficiencies Identify strategic cost savings opportunities Implement a total cost of ownership philosophy for assigned categories Proactively manage contract performance and renewals Mentor and provide training to sourcing staff Consistently apply concepts, tools, and processes to daily work Learn and adopt new and additional processes and concepts that apply to current workflow Education Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration or related field.
