We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Strategic Sourcing Specialist with experience in steel and aluminum fasteners to manage and optimize our procurement and supplier relationships. This role is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, negotiating with suppliers, reducing costs, and ensuring quality and reliability of the supply chain. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sourcing methodologies, supplier performance management, and contract negotiation. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for steel and aluminum fasteners, including bolts, nuts, screws, washers, and specialty hardware.
- Identify, evaluate and qualify domestic and international suppliers based on quality, price, reliability, and capacity.
- Conduct market research and cost analysis to support sourcing decisions.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure competitive agreements.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure service, quality, and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Work with teams, including but not limited to, engineering, manufacturing, and quality to qualify parts and suppliers.
- Drive cost savings initiatives through value analysis, volume leverage, and process improvement.
- Mitigate supply chain risks through proactive planning and supplier diversification.
- Lead or support RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs for new or existing projects.
- Maintain supplier scorecards and participate in supplier audits and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards and industry standards (ISO, ASTM, SAE).
- Support inventory management through lead time optimization and demand forecasting.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, Industrial Management, or related field.
- 4-7 years of sourcing/procurement experience in industrial components, with emphasis on metal fasteners.
- Strong knowledge of steel and aluminum grades, finishes (e.g., zinc-plated, anodized), and manufacturing processes (cold heading, threading, etc.).
- Familiarity with fastener standards (e.g., ASTM, SAE, DIN, ISO).
- Experience with global sourcing and contract manufacturing is a plus.
- Proficient in ERP systems and sourcing tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa).
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with import/export regulations, tariffs, and trade compliance.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) are a plus Ability to travel as requested.
