This position is with the Henny Penny convenience stores operated by Petroleum Marketing Group, Inc. (PMG), a family-owned company serving Connecticut since 1949. PMG owns and operates over 20 sites with a focus on customer service and community engagement.

Job Title: General Manager

Location: Monroe Store 49

Summary: We seek experienced management professionals with a proven track record in retail/convenience store operations, leadership, and high-volume business management. Candidates should be excellent communicators, motivated, and adaptable, with a Do Whatever It Takes attitude. Compensation will be based on qualifications, including a bonus plan akin to ownership, along with benefits such as health, 401K, and potential relocation support.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring a positive customer shopping experience
• Resolving customer and staff concerns effectively
• Implementing sales strategies and operational plans
• Analyzing financial reports to maximize profitability
• Leading daily operations and team performance
• Managing paperwork, cash handling, and inventory processes
• Scheduling staff and managing labor costs
• Building community relationships
• Monitoring competition and market trends
• Maintaining operational excellence

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's preferred
• Leadership experience in retail or convenience stores
• Staff training and performance management skills
• Availability for flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Reliable transportation
• Strong leadership, customer service, and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
