Summary

As an Empowered Leader, the Store Leader- Hourly works independently to influence the performance of everyone who interacts with guests and supports the store environment. Using elements of GameStop's Buy-Sell-Trade Model, The Circle of Life, and Solution Selling techniques, the Store Leader ensures world-class guest service experiences. The Store Leader-Hourly makes discretionary decisions involving sales initiatives, operational effectiveness, marketing, scheduling, employment, and other day-to-day store processes. This position supervises associates including an Assistant Store Leader, Senior Game Advisors, and Game Advisors, depending on store size, location, and sales volume.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Selling Passion: Enjoy active selling, explore and create guest needs, and close sales. Demonstrate a passion for exceeding goals. Provide world-class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to concerns effectively, align guest needs with products, recommend additional items, and thank guests for shopping.
  • Solution Selling Focus: Drive sales and loyalty by creating complete guest solutions. Use Solution Selling techniques to meet guest needs, recommend products, and foster repeat business. Support visual and operational elements to enhance the shopping environment.
  • Team Support: Commit to team, including dependability, improvement, and responding to feedback. Recruit, hire, assess, develop, and retain staff committed to guest service. Provide performance feedback and coaching. Lead store associates in achieving sales, profit, and shrink goals. Ensure store always has a supervisory presence. Train staff on policies and procedures.
  • Operational Agility: Respond quickly to operational needs to create positive guest experiences. Schedule staff effectively, communicate clearly, protect assets through inventory control, and maintain store cleanliness and organization. Manage transactions accurately, oversee merchandising, and communicate stock issues.
  • Military Stores (if applicable): Ensure compliance with Affirmative Action initiatives and build partnerships with military personnel.

Qualifications
  • Must be 18+ with proof of age
  • High school diploma or GED required; degree preferred
  • 3+ years retail/sales/management experience; 1+ year management preferred
  • Ability to work alone, lift objects up to 20 lbs., and travel occasionally
Skills and Abilities
  • Guest service skills, effective communication, leadership in fast-paced environments, proficiency with POS systems, basic math, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work extended hours, handle stress, and adhere to policies.

Full-time positions are eligible for incentives, health benefits, paid time off, 401(k), educational assistance, employee discounts, and potential bonuses.

Salary range: $22.20 - $30.20
