The Store Manager is responsible for the successful operation and profitability of the store, including training, directing, and monitoring all department staff.

Responsibilities

Greet and service customers per company standards of world-class customer service; train staff accordingly.Maintain professionalism and provide leadership, motivating staff towards high performance.Show respect and integrity in interactions with employees, customers, vendors, and contacts.Handle customer complaints appropriately and per company policy.Ensure the store is inviting, shoppable, with in-stock products and proper handling of special orders.Answer phones per standards and spend at least 75% of time assisting customers, directing staff, and attending to all departments.Train staff on customer service and hold them accountable.Ensure compliance with food safety certifications and registrations.Meet and exceed store and department sales, sales per labor hour, average ticket, customer count, COGS for produce, and EBITDA.Order products from correct vendors to maintain margins.Manage perishables, markdowns, and store presentation standards.Assist customers across all store areas and ensure staff are trained and scheduled properly.Conduct performance evaluations, handle hiring, and address disciplinary issues.Maintain clear communication, safety guidelines, and respond to disruptions.Proactively develop staff for future management roles.Train new management, encourage nutritional and product knowledge, and ensure customer questions are answered.Monitor departments, complete operational duties, and ensure timely paperwork and reports.Maintain store appearance, respond to department calls, and ensure proper coverage, including evenings and weekends.Support decisions from the home office and adapt to changing demands.All employees are expected to be hands-on and contribute to the company's success.
Qualifications
Recipe for Success:
High school diploma or GED required.1-2 years management experience in grocery or retail, natural foods a plus.Ability to manage changing priorities and pass food safety training/certifications.Must obtain forklift certification.Maintain food safety certifications through continuing education.Sense of urgency, excellent customer service skills, highly organized, and detail-oriented.Cashier trained; proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook.This description is not a contract; duties may change, and employees are expected to perform all tasks assigned.
