Stockroom Manager and Laboratory Coordinator - Valparaiso University : Job Details

The Stockroom Manager and Laboratory Coordinator is responsible for supporting the educational and research activities of the Department of Chemistry. This support takes numerous forms but major responsibilities include managing the chemical and non-chemical stockroom inventory and ensuring proper setup of educational laboratory experiments. Major Responsibilities:Coordinating setup and preparation of laboratory experiments (this includes supervision of laboratory aides) and the subsequent tear down of the lab. Purchasing, receiving, and inventorying chemicals and equipment. Requires use of VU credit card. Organizing/performing preventative maintenance on the departments equipment/instruments. Preparing lab manuals. Overseeing disposal of chemical waste. Staying current on safety and chemical storage best practices. Keeping the laboratory spaces organized, clean, and safe.
