Job DetailsJob Location Sonora Dental - Sonora, CA Position Type Full Time Education Level High School Salary Range $21.00 - $25.24 Hourly Travel Percentage None Job Shift Day Job Category Health Care DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Lead RDA, performs and participates in decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, scanning, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable Dental instrumentation and equipment. The Sterile Processing Technician is also responsible for assuring that dental operatories are adequately cleaned, disinfected, and ready for patients; they will also be responsible for the preparation and inventory control of dental instruments and supplies. The Sterile Technician will perform other duties as assigned or required. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: (will include, but not be limited to) The Sterilization Technician is responsible for decontaminating and sterilizing instruments, dental supplies, and equipment; assembling and sterilizing instrument cassettes; and strictly adhering to standard precautions in decontamination and sterilization areas. This role also involves ensuring the proper functionality of instruments and dental equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. The Sterilization Technician will consistently deliver high-quality work within established deadlines, whether working independently or under direct supervision. This position requires the ability to work autonomously while maintaining clear and effective communication with managers and colleagues. Effective resource management, a dedication to continuous improvement, and a commitment to achieving the highest standards of performance are essential to success in this role. A thorough understanding of TMWIHC's objectives and a genuine enthusiasm for contributing to the organization's success are key expectations. Regular and reliable attendance is a fundamental requirement, along with the ability to interact professionally and build positive relationships with others. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed. QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Qualifications:Education and Experience:Pattern I: Completion of Dental Assistant Training Program with a Dental Assisting Certificate OrPattern II: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent with at least two (2) years working in a dental office setting. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and office practices and procedures is preferred. Experience working with the Native American population in a healthcare setting 2+ years preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires walking, standing, and sitting for prolonged periods of time; climbing stairs, step-stools, etc.; stooping, kneeling, crouching, balancing, and reaching; pushing, pulling and lifting up to 30 pounds; raising objects overhead; manual dexterity for operation of computer and phones; hearing, talking, and good verbal and written communication skills; repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers; subject to outside environmental conditions of heat and cold; and walking on uneven ground. The position requires the ability to safely operate and drive a motor vehicle.
