Sterile Supply Technician - Conway Medical Center : Job Details

The Sterile Supply Technician- Certified (SST-C) performs and participates in the decontamination and cleaning of all instrumentation received, which included and is not limited to instrumentation and equipment received from all units according to established standards and procedures. The SST-C will prepare case carts and trays for decontamination and load them into washer and/or sterilizer as prescribed by procedure. Perform the operation of the index washers, cart washers, ultrasonic cleaners as well as manually cleaning instruments and equipment as prescribed by established standards and procedures. The SST-C will disassemble, clean, assemble and test patient care equipment for proper functioning; route cleaned equipment to appropriate holding areas. The SST-C may use chemicals in the appropriate fashion taking into consideration the intended use of the chemical as well as the chemical s function; knowledge of the appropriate PPE is also necessary.
