Sterile Processing Assistant - UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital : Job Details

Scheduling Rotation:Each team member works five shifts per week. Weekends are rotated to ensure fairness. The Hospital Assistant I in the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) is responsible for supporting sterilization processes by cleaning and staging surgical case carts, transport totes, and rigid sterilization containers. This role ensures that all equipment is properly decontaminated and prepared for use in surgical procedures while maintaining accurate records in the SPD information system. Key Responsibilities:Clean surgical case carts, rigid sterilization containers, and transport totes according to department procedures. Stage cleaned equipment to maintain efficient workflows. Conduct rounds to pick up soiled case carts from various hospital units. Participate in SPD shift huddles and document attendance.
