Spaulding High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated STEM Educator to inspire and prepare students for careers in engineering and avionics. This position is funded through the Ron York Scholarship Endowment, which encourages students to pursue college majors in engineering. The successful candidate will collaborate with community partners, local businesses, and our Work-Based Learning Coordinator to develop hands-on learning experiences and educational pathways for students interested in STEM fields.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an engaging STEM curriculum with a focus on engineering and avionics.
- Collaborate with Vermont-based businesses to establish work-based learning opportunities.
- Partner with the Work-Based Learning Coordinator to align school-based instruction and opportunities with college, industry and workforce needs.
- Provide academic and career guidance to students interested in STEM pathways, particularly engineering and avionics.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, educators, and industry professionals.
- Participate in professional development and stay current with advancements in STEM education.
Qualifications:
- Possess or be eligible for a Vermont Educator License in 7-12 Mathematics or Science.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience working with community organizations, industry partners, or work-based learning programs preferred.
- Passion for inspiring students to explore and pursue STEM careers.
