Job DescriptionPOSITION: Staffing & Scheduling Coordinator WORK STATUS: Part-Time DAYS: Weekdays; Monday-Friday (occasional weekends, as needed) HOURS: 8am-5pm SALARY: $25.00 per hour-$29.00 per hour (depending on experience) GENERAL SUMMARY: The Staffing & Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for scheduling employees in the Health Care Department, and they are also responsible for properly recording, filing and maintaining the upkeep of the department's resident medical records. Additionally, the Staffing & Scheduling Coordinator will maintain all central supply for the Health Care Department. PRINCIPLE DUTIES:Essential Job Duties:
Coordinates and schedules health care staff. Ensures adequate staffing coverage for health care, manages call outs, and maintains shift coverage to meet the mandatory requirements of the facility staffing ratios. Reviews time off requests submitted by staff and communicates with staff in a timely manner regarding accommodations. Posts employees' schedules in the scheduling system and posts the schedules at the nurses' stations. Communicates employee status changes to Human Resources as needed. Assists nurse management with administrative and clerical tasks. Tracks attendance for staff; informs management of employees who have excessive tardiness or absences. Maintains complete and accurate current and discharged residents' medical records. Sends correspondence to Providers relating to requested medical record information. Maintains confidentiality of medical data. Accurately processes purchase orders in a timely and effective manner for Health Care. Ensures reconciliation of delivery of items purchased with invoices. Manages inventory for Healthcare Center Attends in-service training and education sessions assigned by supervisor. Performs specific work duties assigned by the supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS: At least 1 year of scheduling and medical records required. At least 1 year of experience in a health care and/or long-term care setting preferred. High school education required. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicates effectively, reads maps efficiently, and performs simple arithmetic. Must be able to maintain a courteous, friendly and helpful attitude with the residents and staff members at all times. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Position requires sitting for prolonged periods of the time working on a computer. Must be able to lift & carry 25 pounds (anything above 25 lbs., Maintenance Department will be able to assist)
